The highly anticipated match is slatted on Sunday, right after the finals of this third leg of the Villards: Tulong sa Pagsulong ng Philippine Sports, which is sponsored by Camella Communities.

Egie Geronimo, reputedly the best pool player to come out from Marilao, Bulacan, and one of the best Bulakeños to play the game, aims to prove before an anticipated jam-packed crowd that his upset victory over Efren Bata Reyes in their last encounter was a no fluke. If you remember, the 30-year-old pool player from Bugsy Promotions, owned and managed by Perry Mariano, scored a stunning 9-1 win over The Magician in the Villar Cup’s Cebu leg.

Both Efren Reyes and Egie Geronimo are in the 32-man field competing for the prestigious Villar Cup, which offers a total pot of P800,000. Other pool players participating in the event include defending Villar Cup titlist Gandy Valle, Villar Cup Alabang leg winner Warren Kiamco, Rodolfo Luat, Francisco Django Bustamante, Roberto Gomez, Rubilen Amit, Lee Van Corteza, Ronnie Alcano, Carlo Biado, Russian Petiza, Jharome Pena, Ramil Gallego, William Millares, Johann Bubwit Chua, William Chua, Godofredo Ducanes, Dondon Razalan, Michael Feliciano, Mark Mendoza, Romar Villones, Benjie Guevarra, Jundel Mazon, Panfilo Damuag, Mike Takayama, Jomar de Ocampo, Elmer Haya, Ricky Zerna, Joey Pardales, Richard Pornelosa, and Kuwait’s national team mainstay Abdulah al Yousef.

The Senate President Manny Villar Cup is organized by the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP) and supported by Puyat Sports, Bugsy Promotions, and Negros Billiards Stable.
